- Appearance: yellowish-brown uniform powder (as standard grade); insoluble in water, soluble in sodium sulfide solution to give brownish yellow; partially soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, yellow precipitate on dilution

Applications & Preparation

- Main uses: Dyeing cotton, linen, viscose, vinylon; leather coloring; widely used for color matching (grass green, beige, turmeric, yellow-brown, dark green, dark gray)

- Preparation: Derived from 2,4-diaminotoluene via formylation, then high-temperature sulfurization roasting (140–220°C) with sulfur, followed by cooling and milling

Storage & Safety

- Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse; avoid oxidizers, heat, direct sunlight, sparks

- Handle with PPE (gloves, goggles); avoid inhalation of dust and skin/eye contact; neutralize spills with appropriate absorbents and follow local waste disposal regulations
