Application Process

Dyeing follows three simple steps. First, dissolve the dye in warm water (50-60°C). Second, apply to the fiber at 70-90°C with added electrolyte to drive exhaustion. Third, and most critically, oxidize using hydrogen peroxide or other agents to lock the color. Unlike traditional sulfur black, water-soluble versions often need no anti-tendering treatment to prevent fabric weakening over time.

Major Uses

The dye is widely used for cotton yarns in denim, knitted fabrics, sewing threads, and even chrome-tanned leather. Its main limitation is the narrow color range-it produces black and dark grey only, not bright shades. Additionally, wet rubbing fastness is moderate, often requiring a fixative for high-end applications.
